“ASTRO” is the division of the label that carries Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, Rhythm & Blues, Easy Listening, Country, Urban and Rap music.It also means “Shooting for the Stars”. "GENESIS" means “The Beginning”.It is the division of the label that will also provide “gospel” music as another major outlet for “new” aspiring gospel recording artists.
Record Production & Acquisition
ASTRO/GENESIS RECORDS will continually seek talented “self contained” musical producers and recording artists through their annual showcases in various states worldwide.Once an artist or group is selected as being “outstanding”, Astro/Genesis Records will, in turn, produce CDs.Astro/Genesis Records will produce CDs for distribution through a selected group of independent distributors and/or major channels ultimately reaching retail outlets.
ASTRO/GENESIS RECORDS becomes involved in the actual production of the "master" recording for each “new” recording artist from start to finish.This aspect of the recording process from the start involves the A&R Division of Astro/Genesis Records to approve the project and then contract with the recording artist(s) to select the best musicians, producers, songwriters, background vocalists and arrangers to complete the "master recording".The artist will then receive a fee and/or percentage or royalty rate based on the proceeds received by Astro/Genesis Records from distribution of the recording(s) to retail outlets.The fee and/or royalty agreement is based on a "recording by recording" basis.Astro/Genesis Records produces it own recordings by utilizing various recording outlets.In this selection, the specific configuration of a particular studio can be matched to the requirements of that particular artist.
